Say hello to the newest members of the Hot Diggity family - Corissa and Clancy! We're thrilled to welcome Corissa Bubenick as the new boutique manager and her pint-sized sidekick, Clancy, who joins her daily in the shop. We caught up with Corissa to find out more about her, what she's looking forward to in her new position and her four legged fam. Here's what she had to say.
What were you doing before joining Hot Diggity?
Before Hot Diggity I had been out of college for a year where I got a degree in environmental science and a minor in business. I was working in the solar industry and not finding the fulfillment at the end of the day that someone who enjoys their job has.
What's the best part of working in the dog business?
The best part of working at The Digs would have to be spending the day with my dog at the store, along with being able to meet many dogs and their owners. It is nice to see familiar faces from week to week stop in to grab their favorite snacks and see how well their pups are doing.
Do you have pets of your own?
Yes! I have a gray kitten names Gracie... she is the newest addition to the family; a three year old yorkie named Clancy (assistant manager at Hot Diggity); an 8 year old appendix quarter horse named Bauer; and a full tank of fresh water fish.
Where did you grow up? What brought you to the Cape if you’re not a native?
I was borne in Maine and soon after moved to the Cape to be closer to family. I've been here for 23 years.
What's your favorite dog character in a movie or book?
Gidget from The Secret Life of Pets is my favorite dog character. I just love her passion and spunk in the movie and how she will do anything to save her friend, Max!
If you were a dog, what breed would you be and why?
This is a tough one. I think if I had to narrow it down to one I would be a yorkie. They are stubborn, but lovable and they have an ability to make you smile because of their persistence to get exactly what they want. This reminds me of myself because I strive every day to follow my passions and dreams and will do what I have to in order to achieve them.
What are you looking forward to most about your new role in Mashpee?
I look forward to getting to know each and every one of my customers, both furry and non. I am excited to be able to help them with their dog care needs and can't wait until I can greet everyone by name. So far I have a few regulars names down pat, but it is work in progress since we have so many regulars that come in.
What do you do when you're not working at The Digs?
When I am not working I am spending my days at the barn. I help out on my days off mucking stalls and ending my day there with a nice lesson on my boy, Bauer. The barn is like a second home to me. Any free moment I have you can find me at Coy Brook Farm.
