Really cool, really well made things for you and your pup!

Winter walking Tips, Tricks & Must-Haves that will make your tail wag!

1.) PAW PROTECTION: Paw protection is essential for winter walking. During the winter our pet’s paws come into contact with the cold, snow, road salt and more. It’s no wonder their paws can become raw and chapped this time of year! This doesn’t mean you have to forgo your walks, however. Your options include booties and paw balm for your pup to keep their paws supple and pain free!

2.) WARMTH: We bundle up before stepping outside into the cold, so consider doing the same for your pet! Some breeds are less able to tolerate the cold and benefit from coats that keep their core warm.

3.) VISIBILITY: The days are shorter and the weather is less predictable. Oh, the joys of winter! These conditions can lead to lower visibility levels on your walk, especially if you are in a wooded area. Consider a bright orange collar, a collar bell or a small light that hangs from your dog’s collar in case you and your pet are separated during a time of low visibility.

4.) DIET SUPPLEMENTATION: Help keep your pup in tip top shape by supplementing their diet based on their activity level, age and general health needs. Winter is a great time to add in an immune boosting superfood supplement to your pets diet! (It is always best to consult your vet before making changes if your dog has specific health concerns.)

5.) REST AND RELAXATION: Last but not least, don’t forget to kick back, relax and give your dog some love. A post exercise massage is a great way to bond with your pet after a cold winter walk. Many dogs enjoy a very gentle massage (no more pressure than petting) at the base of the skull to stimulate relaxation. There are few things better than a tuckered out pooch!

We hope you have a happy and healthy start to the new year and look forward to seeing you and your pup soon for all your winter walking needs.
